Dr. Gihan Badi, FCIAT

A Senior Architectural Designer and Chartered Architectural Technologist with a wealth of experience spanning over 20 years in the construction industry and education sector in the UK and the Middle East. She is responsible for collaborating directly with clients on their projects from the initial design stages through to completion. Gihan’s expertise includes conducting feasibility studies, developing designs, obtaining planning permissions, managing tendering processes, and producing detailed drawings. She excels in providing top-notch architectural solutions that meet and exceed clients’ expectations.

Gihan is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and was previously a Lecturer at the School of the Built Environment, Engineering and Computing, Leeds Beckett University. Her research interests focus on the resilience of the built environment and disaster risk management/reduction.

Furthermore, Gihan is a Professional Assessor for the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologist (CIAT) and a Judge for the annual CIAT Awards. She actively participates in her professional institute CIAT at local and national levels, demonstrating her commitment to advancing the profession. In recognition of her outstanding contributions to the field, Gihan was a finalist for Best Architectural Technologist in the 2017 European Women in Construction and Engineering awards.

  • Highly Commended for the Students Award for Excellence in Architectural Technology, CIAT Awards in 2014. The Project was a Primary School design at Leeds Beckett University.
